Answers in the Bible

The Bible has answers for many topics. I was hoping to write a list of statements the Bible makes about life here. I'll try to list the "most important ones". Is God able to answer these succinctly? Does God have the authority to tell us what these answers are?

How everything started

How it will end

What happens when you die

What you should do with your life

There seem to be too many to list here, so I will list a few in different categories.

  • Repent and be baptized (Acts 2:38)
  • Fear God and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13, John 14:15)
  • Love your neighbor (Galatians 5:14)
  • The Great Commission (Be a witness) (Matthew 28:18-20)
  • Be ready to make a defense (explanation) of your faith (1 Peter 3:15)
  • Go to church (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Lead a quiet life (1 Thessalonians 4:11)
  • Be Christ's ambassadors and be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  • Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith until the end (2 Timothy 4:7)

Where evil comes from

Why there is suffering

Are there some important questions we might have about life that the Bible is not able to answer?

Why did [X] happen to me?

Does God love me specifically?

We know that God loves the "world" (John 3:16) and that Christ died for "us" (Romans 5:8). But how do I know God specifically loves me? Well, if you know and love God then He has revealed Himself to you specifically (John 6:44)!
